York Street Helles is our take on a traditional Munich-style lager. It’s inspired by our German head brewer and his time becoming a Master Brewer at world-renowned beer institution Doemens. A crisp, dry lager with subtle herbal aromas, the smooth malt flavours mellow into gentle, restrained bitterness, making for a deliciously easy drinking beer.

Keg draught at the Real Ale Classroom, Stoneygate, Leicester. Light to mid-gold, clear as a bell with a fluffy white head. Mega-metallic aroma with baked orange peel and sweet vegetable. Sweet taste, clean and malty with the hop bitterness just slightly active in the finish. Full oily body with soft carbonation. A great Helles but won't be for everyone's tastes.

Tight white foamy head stayed on a light amber coloured body. Grain & cereal aroma. Medium bodied, smooth & lively on the back with a cloying aft. Malt, grain, cereal & jam tastes with a lightly hopped finish. Standard

Appearance is golden, clear, a small white head which quickly goes. Aroma is cereal malt, corn, bit of hoppy fruit, lemon puffs. Taste is crisp hops, peppery notes, cereal malt, wheaty hints, more hop bitterness, smooth mouthfeel, fairly full, bitter finish with peppery notes.

Can sample at a tasting at Yoav's place. Hazy yellow. Grassy and slightly citric hops, graininess, slightly sweetish, bread, bitter finish. An OK lager.

On tap at Beer Emporium Bristol. Hazy gold colour lasting white head. Lager malt flavour. I mean it's a lager. some lemon. some bitterness on the finish. it's ok just lacks a little character.
