A German-style golden ale that is light like a lager but has more body and malt sweetness. For the more adventurous light beer drinker… “a ship in port is safe, but that’s not what ships are built for.”

On tap at Red Bird, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out gentle grainy notes and crisp crackery malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with cereal grains and crisp crackery malt. Grainy and seltzery. Not great.

At least they set out to make a Kolsch and made one rather than ending up Kolsch by accident like some nearby breweries. Pours golden with ok head and lacing. Easy drinking. Tap at brewery.

Quite pale, herbal bitterness and a bit fruity, has the right amount of bitterness. Decent...you could almost call this an actual klsch
