The Herbalist is a new collaboration beer brewed in Southwold by Adnams Head Brewer, Fergus Fitzgerald, and Magic Rock Head Brewer, Stuart Ross. As a homage to Saison du Buff (a three way collaboration beer brewed by Dogfish Head, Stone and Victory breweries) this beer has plenty of complex, spicy flavours from the use of Saison yeast blended with our Adnams yeast, which are balanced by bags of citrus and tropical fruit aromas from the bold New World hops. To back up these fruity flavours, and because it seemed like fun, we’ve added four herbs which add even more fruity flavours to this bold beer.

Cask at Christian Firtal, June 2015. Slightly hazy golden with a lasting white head. Spicy and herbal aroma with mint, marihuana and basil dominating. Sweet fruity and herbal flavour.
Keg at Christian Firtal, September 2015. Lots of herbal character, this time I noted ginger, thyme, rosemary, and oregano. A little too perfumed for it’s own good.
