IPA Dry-hopped w 20-B Cryo & Idaho 7 Cryo

This Experimental IPA is brewed only with cryo hops. We used 20-B cryo as a whirlpool addition and then dry hopped with 20-B cryo and Idaho 7 cryo. Due to the increased oil contents of cryo hops this results in a very impactful hop aroma and flavour with a silky body.

Draught at the brewery. Hazy and pale. On the palate and aroma both, the hops are stinging and not especially clear in terms of the character…just blast of hops, I guess. Would like more nuance to come through but cryo, right? On the palate, not bad. Definitely leaning towards dry, with medium body and lowish bitterness. Not bad.

Murky pale blond colour. The aroma is moderately dank and tropical. Soft mouthfeel because of the oats, but it's fairly dry, so the hop qualities are masked, and the astringency is highlighted There's hop potential, but the result is quite dirty.

On tap at Superflux, pours a cloudy bright yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out earthy hops, some bright citrus and pine, and minimal chalk detectable. Flavour is fairly clean for the style and quite laid back, with soft piney hops, bready malt, and a bit of rough earthiness. Much more laid back and clean than past Experimental IPAs of theirs. Good.
