33cl bottle pours with a modestly murky mahogany colored body that supports a thin light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up smooth reduced sugar nuanced honey flowing into sweet smelling dark fruity esters. The taste delivers a brief flash of smoothly fermented honey leading quickly to bolder notes of kettle caramelization and various plum and date like sweet fruity esters. Toward the finish it becomes a bit more smooth slick sweet malts blended with a bit of smooth sweet honey goodness. Great sipper with plenty of depth and interest to steer you clear of the big ABV.

On tap at AleSmith, pours a fairly clear, but murky light brown with a small beige head. Nose reveals a jumble of fermented out honey, vinous port barrels, brown sugar and caramel. Flavour is decadent, with lots of honey, port barrels, brown sugar, and molasses. The honey character really penetrates the beer part of this. A blend that works really well.
