Cask at Moon under Water, Wigan. Pours “bitter brown” with a small foamy off-white head and excellent lacing. Plenty of malts in the aroma, and also some nutty hints. In the mouth it is quite bitter with a creamy texture, but also a little underlying sweetness. Flavour has roasted malts, traditional hops and spices with hints of ginger coming through later. Bitterness lasts into the slightly dry finish. This is decent.

Gravicask, half, 4.3 % abv, at St Albans Beer & Cider Festival 2023. Deep ruby dark body, off-white head, fair lacing. Slightly roasted brown malty nose, hints of fruits. Caramel-fruity flavours followed by a bittersweet finish. Decent, easy to drink. (St Albans, 27.09.2023).

On cask at the Caley Picture House. Appearance - amber and hazy. Brown maybe. Generous fluffy head. Nose - redcurrants and toffee. Taste - burnt bread. Toffee, cranberries. Palate - close to medium bodied. Crunchy middle and end. Challenging but worth taking on. Overall - nice use of malts.

26th Oct 2017: cask half-pint in my local Wetherspoons. Amber bodied with a red hue, off-white head of lasting foam. Malty and semi-sweet, bittering finish. Liked it.
