Collaboration with French Door Estate Winery
Crossing the boundaries between wine and beer, this dark farmhouse ale went through its primary fermentation in a tank alongside malbec pomace from our friends at French Door Winery, before barrel aging. We then blended some sour barrel stock at bottling to add to the complex vinous acidity of the base beer.

Poured from 500mL bottle. Opaque brown red with small off white head. Earthy, woody, mild red wine, touch of saison yeast. About a year old, mellowed out (it seems), not bad.

Dark violet-brown colour. This one gushered and then in the glass there's barely any carbonation. Mostly a wine-based beer, with a light tartness. Not as complex as Dark Places, but it's still pretty solid. I'm always happy with their wine hybrids.

500mL bottle, courtesy of Oakes (thanks man), pours a deep dark mahogany with a small off-white head. Nose is loaded with red wine must, saison yeast, and earthy notes. Flavour is dry and earthy, with lots of red wine barrel, red wine tannins, wood, and just enough rustic saison yeast. Really like the red wine barrel job here -- dry, earthy, musty and tannic in the right ways. Very good.
