Toaster Mill Black Fire Cask at the Broomfield Tavern, Coventry on 31st October 2024. Deep sepia brown with minimal foam and as good as no lacing. Rich roasty aroma and liquid pass with coffee, sour cherry fruits and dark chocolate, the third of these going on to dominate the finish. Medium bodied with a velvet smooth mouthfeel.

Cask at the brewery Nov 2016. Pours clear dark brown to black with a creamy beige head. Aroma: roasted malts, liquorice, hops, herbal. Taste: light to moderate sweet & bitter, toasted malts, light citrus, berry fruits, nutty. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry roasty, hoppy finish. A little too roast dominant for a BIPA, for me but good to see one on cask.
