An Imperial Stout is never late, nor is it early, it arrives precisely when it means to. Smashing back pints of this one year aged Bourbon Barrel Stout will have you officially labeled as a disturber of the peace. We hand selected 5 of our favourite barrels for this blend. Enjoy!

473 ml can. Pours black with short tan head. Aromas of bourbon, nougat, nutty chocolate, and slick roasted malts. Flavors of hot bourbon, raisins, oak, black coffee and toasted malts. Tasty but harsh. This one could age.

Dark brown, with a thin head. The aroma brings a lot of the barrel out right away, massaged with toffee and chocolate notes. On the palate, there's a boozy hit of bourbon up front, and the alcohol rolls right through to the finish. Chocolate and toffee are still there, lending a touch of stickiness to this as it goes. Good stuff.

Re-rate: The booze has really settled down. Quite enjoyable. Enjoy this aged. Dec 06, 2021 (8/4/7/3/15/15=3.7): Poured from the tap. Black with light tan head. Some underlying boozy bourbon, lots of licorice, molasses, mild vanilla. It’s sweet without the depth. Decent, but overpriced. There are better imperial stouts in BC this season, including from Backcountry.

Black colour; medium sized light brown head. instant smell of spirit; celery salt, molasses. Round mouthfeel, sweet, but both body and sweetness are cut back by the alcohol; some caramel flavour, burnt sugar, more liquorice than I would look for, and definitively a boozy soul; very little depth or complexity.
Decent beer; ridiculously priced.

Jet black with a small brown head. Dark chocolate and some booze. Lots of chocolate and soft nice boozy notes. Solid.

473mL can, pours jet black with a small light brown head. Aroma is full of rich bourbon barrels upfront, backed by plenty of roasted malt and a touch of vanilla. Flavour is somewhat similar, with lots of bourbon and vanilla, cola, and a little roast. Carbonation is slightly aggressive for the style—it's worth letting this decant for half an hour first before consuming. Not a top tier BC BA impie, but it's well-made; hard to say it's worth the rather absurd price tag ($15). Good.

16oz (thx for hauling, Brian!) @ home. Appearance: dark brown with a strong beige head. Aroma: nice bourbon with chocolate and vanilla notes. Taste: along the same lines, lots of bourbon and chocolate, quite boozy as for 10% specified. Warming alcohol, chocolate and some roasted malts aftertaste. Moderately sweet and thick. Overall: I really doubt that this beer is 10% ABV, I suppose it is much more. The alcohol is a bit overpowering here, but the rest is very nice, except, of course, a price tag of $15/can...
