50 cl bottle @ Sankt Hans Tasting, Ulfborg. BBE 04/2016 Aroma has nice coffee notes and some mocha. Also mild licorice notes. Flavour has ash, toffee typical to English ales, licorice and coffee. Coffee-dry finish. Pleasant, perhaps a bit watery though.

Cask-conditioned at the Cornubia, Bristol, 23/4/2015. Near black with a slight, off-white, head. Sweet, dark beer, with plenty of dark fruits and chocolate, before a gentle finish. Fine.

Opaque black beer with a thin head. Smells of toasty malt. Flavour has a tangy fruit hit tempered by the same toasted malts from the aroma and sweet chocolate. It’s a shame it doesn’t have a touch more body but otherwise it’s good, with a surprisingly fresh edge to it which you don’t expect from a stout.

Malziger, leicht kaffeeartiger Antrunk. Dann nimmt die Malzigkeit ab, das Bier wird wässrig. Laffes Finish. 9/8/9/8//8
