This is a mixed culture blend from four different barrels that sat on second use Carmenere grapes. It was then dry hopped with Sabro and Mosaic.

Hazy, pinkish pale purple sort of colour from the Carmenere skins. Thin head. Bretty, vinous nose. On the palate, soft body, vinous, and I’m thinking maybe pedio or diacetyl…subperceptual but enough to throw the beer off. It’s a little slick.

On tap at Holy Mountain, pours a cloudy bright amber red with a small white head. Aroma has a very strange herbal, almost fungal character — is that the grapes? Or maybe the hops? Very odd aromatics. Flavour seems bizarrely hopped, in a way that doesn't mesh well with the mixed culture or grapes. There's gentle tartness, some vinous character, and bugs, but the overhopping kind of obscures whatever complexity is here. It's alright, but a letdown of a beer for Holy Mountain.
