Ale Aged in Oak Barrels on Pineapple, Orange, and Guava

Bright Light in a Dream is a blend of barrels containing oak aged mixed fermentation beers, one of which had previously contained Peach Brandy. The blend was transferred into another set of neutral oak barrels containing Pineapple, Orange, and Guava, where it went through a secondary fermentation with Brettanomyces.

Hazy. Thin head. On the nose, lots of fruit, good tropicals, especially guava. Tart, with some bugs, and a decent fruit sweetness. Pineapple is notable here, with a touch of guava. The guava does stand up here, and there's a touch of wheatiness.

750ml @ Ryan's. Appearance: cloudy golden with a white head. Aroma: very fruity, lots of pineapples, some mix of oranges and stone fruits. Taste: along the same lines, quite sour for me. Overall: too acidic for me.

Poured from 750mL bottle. Hazy yellow with small white head, bit of sediment. Tropical notes, guava, light pineapple, wild saison yeast, a bit tart, bugs. Decent.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy bright golden with a medium white head. Aroma is complex, with lots of wild bugs, along with gentle guava and pineapple, and some oak barrels. Flavour is full of pineapple upfront, followed by tropical guava notes, oak barrels, and bugginess. Rustic, mineraly and well-carbonated on the palate, with plenty of tropical fruit pulpiness. Very fruity, with lots of guava and pineapple, and a buggy, rustic finish. Good stuff.
