Pine and some roast. A little nut. Dark brown pour with decent slightly mocha coloured head. Bitter finish, quite crisp. Can't

Dark brown. Medium head. The aroma is toasty and with a slightly piney, lemony hop note. On the palate, fairly bitter, nice toasty brown ale character but with big leafy hops, gentle citrus, and a hint of sweetness late. This is good ole India Brown Ale, for those of us old enough to remember that idea. Well, I like that idea and this example has a strong sense of balance.

473mL can, pours a deep dark brown with a medium beige head. Aroma reveals a punchy resinous hop bite upfront that combines with a rather robust malt character, sort of like a black IPA. Flavour is much the same, with deep roasted malt, earthy hops, a little piney hop bite, a touch of black liquorice, and bitter dry cocoa powder. Very CDA-like, with a good balance between dry hop bite and roasted malt. Almost no residual sweetness on the finish. Pretty well-made.
