10/05/2025 Sample at Palace Hall, Malmö May tasting - intense dark sweet and roasted malty interlaced with lots of chocolate and coconut, sweet molasses, full bodied, coconut infused sweet dark roasted malty finish. Gorgeous.

500ml (thx, Josh for bringing this for us from Seattle!) @ Phill's. Appearance: deep brown with a dark brown head. Aroma: say sauce, bourbon, chocolate. Taste: another very thick and sweet example of the night, interesting fruity notes that in pair with loads of cacao reminded me about Lindt with orange peels. Overall: very nice.

Poured from 500mL bottle. Black with minimal tan head. Lots of cacao nibs, some vanilla with a bit of bourbon, hint of soy sauce.

Black and inky. There's a lot of good stuff in the aroma, getting the cacao nibs, the vanilla, and some high end soy sauce. Earthy, fruity chocolate. On the palate, rich dark chocolate, and complex dark chocolate at that. Coffee crisp, and nice bourbon. It's thick, with a bit of alcohol late, but less than one might expect from a 14% beer. Damn good.

500mL bottle, pours black with a tiny head. Nose brings out lots of bourbon upfront, a hint of peat, lots of vanilla, and dark cocoa. Flavour is decadent, with lots of bourbon, almost a tartness to it, with vanilla beans and cocoa. There's a strange, almost soy sauce-like element to the palate. Perhaps the oddity is the cocoa nibs, which give off a sort of tart, dark fruity, carob-like character. Silky, viscous mouthfeel. Certainly good, but not as world class as some of Great Notion's other imperial stouts.
