After aging a Saison in red wine and cognac barrels, we left it to rest on several hundred pounds of syrah pomace over winter. The blend picked up a gorgeous ruby tone, rich vinous notes and a delicate florality balanced with a gentle tartness. Syrah Saison is an enticing and delicious addition to the brewery and a fitting mark for our eighth anniversary.

Poured from 750mL bottle. Hazy purpley pink with small white head. Light syrah vinous notes with mild funk. Decent.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy deep dark red with a small, rapidly-diminishing white head. Nose is full red wine grape skins, wild yeast, and some tannins. Flavour is full of red wine grape skins, light tannins, and oak. Wonderful grape skins character that melds well with the wild yeast. Excellent.

750ml @ Sales Force. Appearance: nice hazy purple with a rose head. Aroma: nice grapes, very juicy, a bit of funky notes. Taste: quite intense, a lot of grapes, moderate Brett, some barrrel. Overall: a bit aggressive, but very fruity, I like it.

Pale purple sort of colour. Thin head. Vinous nose, and mellow tartness. Lots of syrah on the palate. Lots of barrel. It is a bit simple, especially in terms of that malt base. It's simple, a touch yeasty.

Deep red with a decent white head. Cherry and a touch of pit notes. A bit chewy red fruit with a light sweet cherry note.
