This enigmatic beer began its life as a mixed-culture sour beer fermented on the pomace of bacchus grapes from Arrowleaf Cellars before resting in a French oak puncheon for 9 months. This bit of beauty sleep contributed an extra layer of complexity and vinous maturity to the beer before coming back to life in the can to achieve natural carbonation.

[notes] Poured from can @ FHF 2023 (Aug 12, 2023). Cloudy gold with small white head. Woody oak forward, mild grape, quite nice.

A taster shared with Josh, Matt, Phill, and Ryan during FHF with priceless Rachel's (yup, again!) help in organizing all the mess with glasses. Appearance: hazy pale golden. Aroma: a bit harsh, fruity. Taste: same. Overall: ok.

Dull pale, hazy. The aroma is quite bretty, vinous and with a light tannic accent. There's still a lot of sweetness, which I ultimately am not a huge fan of. The grape-brett interplay works well, but yeah, I'm going to want to set a can aside until winter to let the brett do good things.

473mL can, pours a cloudy golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma is full of tart citrus, white grape must, oak, and some bugs. Flavour is full of tart white grapes, oak, some bugs, and a little grape must. Sour, lightly buggy and vinous. Cohesive, fairly complex and highly drinkable. Really good.
