Rather than choosing between sour or hoppy, we decided to create a beer that would be both at the same time. Showcasing the aromatic benefits of a generous dry hop (Citra, Amarillo, and Cascade), harnessing the pleasing acidity of lactic acid producing bacteria (we use a 5-strain house blend), and coming to a bottle near you without a pesky 2 year slumber in oak, Jelly King is the fermented embodiment of having your cake and eating it too.
This limited edition Jelly King variant was conditioned on red dragon fruit and pineapple.

Bottle from the brewery. Cloudy red pour, with a small pinkish head. Aroma is lactic, tart, with a random berriness. I can't pull out dragon fruit or pineapple to be honesty. Mouth feel and carb are nice. Finish is medium tart, nice fruitiness, lactic notes, light citrus. Dragon fruit doesn't taste like much to begin with, but I'm not even finding the pineapple.

Poured from 500mL bottle (pkg 16 June 2021). Clear-ish orangey pink with very minimal white head. Very subdued dragonfruit and pineapple, light tartness, feint hint of berry. Could be an age thing, or just that the dragonfruit isn't the most flavourful of fruit. There are better Jelly King's by far, but this is still okay.

500mL bottle, pours a hazy bright pink with a tiny head. Aroma is full of lacto, with buried dragon fruit and pineapple. Flavour is bright and fruity, with tart dragon fruit, a little pineapple, and plenty of lacto. Not very complex, but it's tasty enough in its fruitiness. Meh.

Pale pink, hazy, just a thin head. On the nose, lots of both fruits. The dragonfruit arguably comes across more assertively. On the palate, the sour pineapple character stands strong, but then the dragonfruit comes through. Good body and medium tartness, as is the case with all Jelly Kings. The hops go well with these two fruits.

Huge dragon fruit aroma on initial smell. Some pineapple. Grapefruit tanginess that stays with you for some time with a fair amount of astringency. Like some of the pineapple rind is mixed in there. Clear pink pour with ok head. Bottle.

(Bottle) hazy, bright red colour with a small white head; aroma of pineapple, dragon fruit; tart flavour with a long, light tart and bitter finish
