Bottle in San Juan. Clear golden color, steady white head, lace. Aroma is citrusy and soapy. Light-bodied. Earthy and grassy hoppyness, Certainly a German flavor with Sierra Nevada yeast twist. SN version of German supermarket pils.

A local bodega: Pours clear gold with white head. Aroma is that of a clear and crisp German pils. Grass, grain, some dirt, and maybe a hint of lemon. Taste is similarly crisp and clean. Excellent balance. Exactly what one would want from a pils.

12 oz. bottle. After a strong night of good beers I needed a night cap. Sadly this is the only 12 oz bottle I had in my fridge. Aroma is light pils malt, weak citrus and grain.
How is this different from any other Modern American Pilsner?
Well, it isn’t different at all. Backbone is cereal grain, Pils malt. Mild grassy and weak citrus hops in the finish. Mild bitterness. Body is lighter (borderline watery) with a correct level of co2. Yeah, nothing wrong with it but pretty boring overall. After 5 oz this brew, it nearly put me to sleep from lack of excitement.

Very German, mild hop nose, balanced with a light graininess. Flavor is spicy, a touch grassy, catty hops, with a nice firm but dry cracker malt. Dry almost minerally finish. Super clean. Mild lingering bitterness.

Clear golden coloured body with a rich, luscious white head, about six centimetres tall. Aroma of pale malt, wheat, corn, rice, grain, light funk and quite a bit of yeast notes. Light-bodied; Sharp metallic flavour up front with some light alcohol, touches of apples/pears/raisins all with a very earthy bitterness from the malt. Aftertaste shows that deep bitterness from within, but nothing funky. Overall, a decent pils with perhaps some more pungent flavours, but still - not a bad beer. I sampled this stubby, SN-special twelve ounce bottle purchased in Aurora, Colorado on 25-February-2015.

Bottle @ home, picked up in a mixer sixer at Supermarket Liquor Foco. Pours a clear golden yellow appearance with a lasting off white head. Toasted grain, grass, herbal notes in the nose with a little honey and sweet malt. Medium body. A touch on the sweet side but not bad. Very herbal and crisp. Grassy hops. A little pepper. Pretty chuggable and pretty good.

12oz bottle. Filtered pale yellow-tan body. Definitely a Sierra Nevada Pils, lots of thick hops, Sort of full bodied, thick on the palate and heavy for the style, but a quality offering. Aroma, appearance are both spot on for the style, but it drinks like an IPL. Enjoyable, but not really a definitive example of the style.
