Continuing our line of beers combining oak with different dry hop varieties like Jean-Michel and Gus, Wren showcases an exciting hop we haven’t yet employed in other saisons.
This lot of Meridian from Crosby Hops was speaking to us to be the focus of a beer, presenting sharply defined Meyer lemon and fruit punch notes. After blending some of our hoppy oak-aged stock ales, we introduced this new world variety as a hardy dry hop addition to highlight these bright, expressive notes.
We’re getting some tropical notes, citrus, and a slight hit of wintergreen followed by a crisp and dry finish. Wren marries the elegance of a rounded oak-aged beer with a refreshing, clean quality fit for these warm late summer months.

Bottle. Pours clear yellow, medium white head, good lacing. Aroma is hoppy citrus, leafy, lemon, bugs. Flavor is light tart, light plus funk, bright hops. Light body, soft mouthfeel. Good.

Poured from 375mL bottle. Lightly hazy blonde with white head. Rustic saison yeast, gentle funk, citrus hops, blends nicely.

On tap at Fair Isle, pours a clear pale blonde with a small white head. Aroma has a sort of herbal, vegetal hop character upfront, with rustic saison yeast in back. Flavour is citric and rustic, with rustic saison yeast, floral hops, and some light earthy grassiness. That nose was off-putting but it's a solid saison yet again. Pleasant.

Quite pale, hazy. Earthy herbaceous hop note, clean pale malts. Low bitterness and mild tartness. Barrel rounds it out.
