Fresh hop foudre saison

Before the Sun Dies is a blended saison, the bulk of which is a fresh foudre fermented saison using heavy amounts of rye. We then blended it with vermouth barrel aged saisons that had been in the barrel for between two and four years. Next, we conditioned it (a wet-hop dry-hop) on 150# of fresh HBC-630 hops from our friends at Carpenter Farms. The result is a delicate example of what a fresh hopped beer can be, just in time for the waning days of the season.

On tap at Holy Mountain, pours a hazy bright golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out buggy notes, oak, some earthy rye, and a bit of crunchy vegetables. Flavour has some fresh herbal hop character, lots of bugs, a little earthy rye, and some herbal, almost cucumber-like vegetal notes that slightly detract. Solid blend but not one of their elite blended saisons.

Slight haze, no head, pale. Pale malt, some earthy hop, low bitterness, soft body. I feel like this requires an extra element.
