Vines is a series of oak aged wild ales that celebrates wine grapes in all manifestations.

Each batch is blended based on the grape varietal at hand, and fermented based on the state those grapes are in (whole cluster, de-stemmed, lightly pressed skins, etc.). The result is a unique collection of beers that incorporate wine grapes in all forms, and showcase process as much as ingredients.

Vines Chambourcin is crisp with minimal tannins and bright acids. Some pepper and stone fruit on the nose. Strawberry and pomegranate flavours with a dry quick finish.

Bottle from the brewery. Pours a clear red, with a small pinkish head. Vinous, tart, cherry, earthy, hints of lactic vinegar. Mouth feel is dry, carb is lively. Medium tart finish, with strong red wine, vinous vinegar notes. Pleasant, dry and tart, also refreshingly bitter.

Reddish-brown, no head. Oaky, toasty aroma with a nice vinous character. On the palate, same nice toastiness with the grapes, a touch of bugs. Good balance, the fruit has a bit of juiciness. It's solid.

Poured from 500mL bottle (pkg 17 Dec 2021). Lightly hazed ruby red with small white head. Funky manure, mild vinous underlay, dry tannic background. Decent.

Thanks, Chris S., for the box forward.
A lot of lambic-ish funk, grapes, some sulphur. Taste is along the same lines, sharp, but not really acidic. Fruity, juicy, tart. Good one.

500mL bottle, pours a hazy dark red / mahogany with a tiny head. Nose is pretty sublime, with lots of red grape skins, red wine, plenty of oak, and complex wild yeast. Flavour is very vinous, with lots of red wine, plenty of tannins, oak, wild yeast, and a bit sharp acidity (compared to the other Vines beers). Love that grape character, though it's a bit less intense than “Big Red”. Really nicely done. This series continues to impress.
