pitch black color. Amazing nose of dark chocolate coconut, vanilla and oak. The barrel character is amazing. Low carbonation, sweet and modestly boozy, the vanilla, oak and chocolate work is beautiful harmony. The palate is wonderful This is fantastic and great depth.

Tasting at Ryan's, can; Apr 14, 2021
Dark brown colour, near black. Nice chocolate beer, moderately sweet, but also very boozy; drank side to side with the Knob Creek, this one has better qualities, the mouthfeel is rounder, arguably it seems a bit sweeter, while the barrel comes through quite hars as well; mellower finish.
.Very good.

12oz @ Ryan's shared with Alex and Farees. Side by side with the Knob Creek variant. Appearance: dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: boozy, American oak, some dark fruits, and a bit of meaty notes. Taste: a bit boozy, kinda thin, American oak, moderately sweet, dark fruits. Finishes with hoppy bitterness and booziness. Overall: good enough.

Dark brown, served a bit too cold, bubbly head. Aroma has lots of bourbon and toffee. On the palate, same but the bourbon expression is pretty cool - vanilla, tannins, coffee, toffee. Some alcohol in there. Just lots going on here. 3 7 8 4 15

On tap at The Magnet, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out a pleasant bourbon character that dominates, with moderate roast and a bit of cocoa underneath. Flavour is big and barrel-heavy, with lots of bourbon dominating, dark cocoa, medium roast, and a touch of alcohol. Big and bold, but not brutal, showcasing the best of these barrels. Expertly done.

Re-rate: Poured from 355mL can (side by side with Knob Creek and Basil Hayden variants; date stamped April 14, 2021). Dark brown with small beige head. Bourbon integrates with the rest of the beer better than the other two variants. On par with Knob Creek. Oct 05, 2022 (8/3/8/3/16=3.8): Poured from the tap @ The Magnet. Dark brown with minimal beige head. Raisin, molasses, bourbon, touch of wood and roast. I like it a touch more than the Basil Hayden version, but still slightly unbalanced.
