On tap at BXL Wolf Food Market, Brussels Friday 29th April 2022. Pours warm orange/gold with a large white head, a little hazy. Sweet maltiness, bitterness lacks a little, Loz picks up diacetyl, it's subtle but noted, this isn't bad but it's certainly below par.

Huge, dense, pitting-in yellow head over lively carbonated veiled golden beer. Very floral & intense exotic fruit nose. Green fruit, banana, some ureum; lupulinbomb. Bitter-ish; faint -fruity- spike towards acidity, never reaching. Sweet fruitsugars, with again banana, exotic fruit, melonjuice, finishing almost sweet-malty. Feels quite light, with the good carbonation shoving it almost towards fruited sparkling water. Great nose, satisfying flavours, but a bit too light in body, and the main flavours finally pull in several directions rather than balancing out. Thanks to Angie for bringing!

Bottle from Carrefour, presumably. Hazy golden, stable, frothy, white head. Aroma of shallot, citrus peel, apple, flowers, herbs, breadcrust, mandarin. Taste has sweetish apple, pear & melon with a sour wheaty touch, a bit flowery, light dank shallot in the back too, constant bready-yeasty body. Herbal hoppy finish, flowery & malty, decent balance between Belgian yeast and 'modern' citrusy hops. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Agreeable.

21-10-20 // 330ml bottle shared with PZ. Pretty weak IPA character even for a Belgian IPA. Spice and mild floral aromas.

Belgoo's take on the ubiquitous IPA theme, in existence since two years now and initially only available from tap, but fortunately bottled now as well. Steinie bottle from Streekproductencentrum Halle. Thick and frothy, beaten egg-like, pale yellowish white, thickly plaster-like lacing, stable, audibly crackling head sitting firmly on a misty straw blonde beer with pale peachy tinge and strings of enthusiastic sparkling rising up from the bottle of the glass. Aroma of dried orange flesh, fresh camomile, rosewater, white bread pulp, peach, banana peel, lemon butter, touch mandarin, freshly cut grass, moist white pepper, cooked parsnip, honey, hay, green garden herbs, pineapple, minerals. Spritzy, crisp onset, fruity with notes of banana, pear, peach and perhaps some vague melon, lively carbonated, with a smooth, bit soapy mouthfeel; pleasantly white-bready, cereally and wheat-slick (and slightly sourish) middle with a thin layer of honeyish residual sweetness on top, adorned with continuing fruity esters and upcoming spicy phenols. Quite expressive finish in terms of hoppiness, albeit in that typically subdued 'Belgian' way: some dried citrus peel for sure, hints of dried out lemongrass, dried lemonbalm and camomile as well, with a relatively soft, yet confident and zesty bitterness, that nevertheless refrains from completely overruling the malty softness, fruity esters and bready yeast effects. Remains fruity, juicy, yeasty and malty till the very end, but the hops do act delicately aromatic enough to the extent that I can accept a description like Belgian IPA for this beer - the Belgian way, that is to say, a kind of 'Belgian compromise' between 'international' IPA and firmly rooted Belgian blonde and tripel traditions, usually because traditionally oriented Belgian brewers have no clue as how to brew a true IPA... That does not, however, mean that these 'compromises' always turn out bad, on the contrary: if viewed as Belgian ales 'infused' with an American or international splash of New World hoppiness, they become all the more enjoyable. That goes for this one as well: very Belgian, but with a modern twist, a combination I can certainly appreciate, and clearly bearing Belgoo's house style stamp. Nice one, all things considered, and exactly what I was expecting of it, so I guess I cannot be disappointed to begin with.

Flaska från Etre Gourmete. Gyllengul disig vätska med högt vitt skum. Blommig och örtig doft, gräs, hö. Smak som doften. Torr, mycket gräs och färska bittra örter, lätt alkoholton med lite snapskryddighet. Gott

Many thanks to kappldav123 for sharing! Smooth grainy beginning with lots of floral hops. Intense floral with sticky grainy parts. Easy to drink, grainy and refreshing. Round and bittered, not much complexity here, grainy bitter piney finish with sticky earthy hop oils.

Bottle looks very simple. Beer in the glass zippy, small head. Hoppy-moldy aroma. Starts fresh-hoppy, fine fruity with some hints of peaches. Light sweetness. Finish well balanced, quite drinkable. Nice!
