Balder the brown is medium-bodied Brown ale with notes of semi-sweet chocolate, fresh roasted coffee and a nutty character derived from a variety of specialty grains. A late whirlpool addition of Centennial and Columbus provide a soft dose of pine to balance the malt.

Light body. A bit nutty, toasty. Off-dry with just enough residual sugar to round it out. Okay complexity. Decent brown.

On tap at Strange Fellows, pours a clear chestnut brown with a small beige head. Nose brings out a nice toasted nuttiness and toasted bready malt. Flavour is smooth and nutty, with a toasted bready malt base and nice toasted nuttiness. Dry, crisp and nicely made for a light brown ale.
