The base of this beer is our Award-Winning Oatmeal Stout rested in Kentucky Rye Barrels. It was then blended into fresh Oatmeal Stout and a Brown Ale to become Hollow Leg.

Hollow Leg releases aromas of dark chocolate, oatmeal, rye bread, and a complex assortment of dried fruits and nuts. The creamy oats and spicy rye make for a deliciously complex but approachable Barrel-Aged Stout.

Black colour. Sourish Stout, not very good, this may not be intended.

Dark amber-brown. Thin head. On the aroma it has a bit of the barrel, some toast. It's thin, probably because aging an oatmeal stout doesn't make sense. The barrel comes through, but the oatmeal stout kind of gets crushed, has some tartness, some fruit. Doesn't improve the beer.

473mL can, pours a deep dark brown / black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out gentle dark fruits and light oats -- not getting much barrel. Flavour has some subtle tartness, light oats, no barrel character. Yeah, this is infected, but not egregiously so. It's light-bodied, almost lifeless. The barrels are not detectable at all. 1) Why would you barrel aged a 6% stout? 2a) Didn't they realize this is sour/infected?; 2b) Did they care? 3) This is a useless creation. 4) Who's the target market for garbage like this? 5) Don't buy this.

473 ml can. Pours a very dark brown with full fizzy tan head. Aromas of sour dark fruit, soap, and wet roasted malts. Flavors follow same with a little chocolate. I don’t think the sour notes are intended and are not rye barrel flavors. Therefore beer is infected. Appears others are getting the same. So beer maybe this beer shouldn’t be on the market…

Poured from 473mL can. Dark brown with small beige head. Dark soured dried fruits prevail, could very well be an infection, but it's not all that offensive (yet) and actually combines itself with the subtle roast and chocolate notes like a sour stout might. Not picking up the barrels here. Oddly okay.
