This blend of sour and non-sour ales features a full mixed-culture fermentation on top of gorgeous local whole Oyama plums, a dark grain bill with notes of dark caramel and just a hint of chocolatey roast, and a fair portion of oats and rye mixed in for body and a touch of spice. Brewed and canned on-site at our brewery in Kelowna, BC.

473 ml can. Pours a darkish brown with fizzy head that settles quickly. Aromas of plum skins, grapes, and unripened berries. Flavors of tart plums, grape juice, and leathery malts. Malty juice.

Poured from the tap. Dark brown with small light beige head. Light roast malt, mild tartness, some leather, just feint plum. Okay. Definitely sour stout vibes.

Dark, light plummy accents, some dark malts, mellow bugs. Malts show a sweeter side.

473mL can, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out notes of leather, tart plums, and some wild bugs. Flavour comes across like a sour stout, with notes of leather, wild bugs, a touch of roast, and very minimal acidity/tartness. The plums are quite buried -- I don't think I would've detected them if I didn't expect to find them. Fairly dry, low-to-moderate sourness on the finish. Good, as usual from Wild Ambition, but not one of their more exciting beers.

Very sour plum. Ruby red pour without much head. Lemon, some tannic skin. Very acidic finish. Tap at brewery.
