Hand-pulled pint in Montgomery Tower, a Spoons in Shrewsbury. Deep, dull amber body with a lightly tanned head. Malty from the start, with caramel and toffee notes in both the aroma and taste, some fruit traces also. Mild hop bitterness in the finish but the beer did not really excite me as it wasn’t anything out of the ordinary.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Bronze with a tight cream head; malty aroma; malty taste - slightly stewed, as if it’s been pasteurised; dry, biscuity finish, with no tace of any New World hops. A decent bitter, but it doesn’t meet up with expectations.
