Aroma: American oak, some sweetness, some chocolate and vanilla.
Taste: along the same lines, nicely balanced from the old-school standpoint.

On tap at AleSmith, pours jet black with a small brown head. Aroma is rich and decadent, with intense vanilla beans, bourbon barrels, molasses, and dark sugars. Flavour is likewise rich and complex, with a wonderful bourbon barrel character, spicy rye barrel notes, tons of vanilla beans, and a bit of molasses. What a barrel character. Boozy but tastefully so, with great accentuation from the vanilla beans. Phenomenal.
