Bourbon Barrel-Aged Peanut Butter Cup-Inspired Imperial Rye Stout • 15.3% ABV • Inspired by the clandestine echoes of "Project Aurora," this beer is a nod to the mysterious and elusive. House-roasted peanuts, silky-sweet chocolate, and sixty pounds of peanut butter cups were recirculated through the Darkstar November base, enveloped in its tractor beam of molasses, bourbon, and oak. Lightly carbonated with a full-bodied gravitational pull, each sip is a close encounter with interstellar decadence.

500 ml bottle. Thank you Clark! Appearance is pitch black with an oily film and mild chunks of peanut butter cups floating in the stout. Chocolate, some rye bourbon and vanilla. Flavor is not very cohesive. A blast of chocolate and sugar, upfront, and then turns into pretty intense rye barrel in the finish.

Bottle pour shared by ClarkVV--thanks, Clark! Inky, viscous, opaque black, no head or lacing. Aroma is strong bourbon, toffee, rye then lighter peanut butter. Taste is strong bourbon, rye, chocolate, some alcohol harshness, later, milder peanut butter, oak. Full bodied, thick texture, average carbonation, some alcohol burn/harshness, finish as taste. Given peanut butter is supposed to be the star of the show, a bit disappointing. Decent but not great.

2023 500mL bottle drunk 7/25/25.
Clear, dark, some mahogany on the edge. Very little head, even with an aggressive pour. There are peanut butter cups floating in my beer!
Rich, spicy rye and rich chocolate with earthiness. Peanut butter isn't too artificial or candied. Vanilla, round whiskey and deep chocolate with no alcohol or excessive sweetness.
Soft, chocolatey, peanut buttery and, sadly, maybe a bit on the sweet side. Big rye spice does balance, I suppose, but it's somehow still rather disjointed. You get a lot of soft, sweet, adjunct and sugar up front and then an abrupt spicy rye finish. It's not boozey but the strength is felt and the rye is very intense.

5oz. Leftovers after 2nd Annual Macaroons Day and Bottleshare. Appearance: almost black with no head. Aroma: sweet, some spices, bold. Taste: along the same lines, very interesting combination of flavors and rye barrel, lots of chocolate. Overall: very nice.

On tap at Kings Beer & Wine, pours black with a tiny head. Aroma smells like Reece's PB cups, along with bourbon, dark sugars, and cocoa. Flavour is full of peanut butter, with lots of peanut butter, cocoa, bourbon barrels, and dark sugars. Decadent, complex, and boozy in the best of ways. Delicious.
