A giant in a can, Antigoon pours a pale golden colour with a towering head. Herbal hop notes and fruity yeast esters will hit your nose before the dry, crisp and deceptively light beer hits your palate. Antigoon will make you feel like you're just a hand's throw from Antwerp.

Florals and citrus. Hazy golden pour with decent head and lacing. Some coriander. Nice Belgian, with pretty nice balance. I'm liking dageraad. I feel like they are tinkering and improving all the time, getting more of that subtle balance that makes the great trappists great. Light sweet finish. Can.

Flight at brewery. Pours clear yellow with white head. Aroma brings out a lot of spicy esters out front. Coriander, light fruit, rubber. Flavour has bubblegum, coriander, some light cloying sweetness. Carbonation is pretty low for the style. Profile isn't bad, but the esters err a bit too much on the side of bubblegum for this to be good.

Golden with slight haze, fruity, apple, pear, clean pale malt, slightly funky, touch of alcohol. Kind of like a really fruity duvel.

473 ml can. Pours amber with lightish head. Aromas of dry fruity esters, banana bread, a bit of sulphur and toasted malts. Flavors of unripe banana, dull fruity esters, a bit of bubblegum and toasted malts. OK

In the end, I had many cans of what was probably the first batch. I'm glad that this affordable beer is now available on a regular basis. Bit bright, clean blond colour, this batch shows a bit more aniseed and alcohol, and less pepper.

2023-11-16, can from High Point, Vancouver, 8-4-8-4-17=41
Blond colour, hazy, with compact, white head. Nice aroma, bread, mild fruit (sweet grapes), very light spice. Good body strength, with light residual sweetness; it's bready, almost doughy, the yeast character is strong, quite spicy, peppery, some coriander; balanced bitterness; traces of anise here and there.
It's quite cold, it will get even better as it slowly warms.
Excellent.

Taster. Appearance: slightly hazy blonde with a white head. Aroma: raw water, Belgian esters, a bit peppery. Taste: along the same lines, a bit bitter, full-bodied. Overall: pretty good.

On tap at Dageraad, pours a cloudy pale golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out gentle esters, some candi sugar, a bit of spicy phenols, and floral notes. Flavour is fairly estery, with sweet candi sugar, some spicy phenols, floral notes, and bubblegum. Not fermented properly, too estery/too sweet, not carbonated enough. This is not at all convincing of the presumed target. Not awful but I expect more from Dageraad.
