An old language of hop-driven IPA already exists and it’s good. In this beer we are faithfully reciting the old words. This IPA is fermented with a strain of yeast that is unremarkable, but that doesn’t matter because you’re not going to taste it. You palate is going to get swamped by old-school, piney, resiny, citrusy hops and assaulted by bitterness. And you’re going to beg for more.

Grapefruit and some florals. Pours orange without pretty good head. Lots of malt in this one. Some tangerine marmalade. Bitter peel end. Can.

473 ml can. Pours a copper color with moderate head. Aromas of bready caramel malts, dull citrus and soft resiny pine. Flavors of pine, dried grapefruit, and bready malts. Bitter finish. A nice simple, malty old school IPA.

Poured from 473mL can (pkg 04/04/2024). Hazy orangey brown with full white head. Biscuit and toffee malt with citrus and pine hops. Old school with a new age spin. Quite nice.

473mL can, pours a hazy dark copper orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out dry toffee, toasted caramel, grapefruit, and resinous hops. Flavour is full of grapefruit, resinous hops, toffee, and bready malt. Very old school, malty but dry, with decent hop expression. Solid.

Hazy dark amber colour. Frothy head. Has a bright hop note, especially amarillo and orangey simcoe. Those hops used to be so fucking cool. Centennial is almost cool again. Biscuity, toasty malt signature with nice finishing sweetness. Good balance, a touch of alcohol in the finish and it's a fair bit yeastier than I would have expected.

Draught at the brewery,
Dark blond colour, clean. Aroma of blond malt, and light winter spices. Good body, with moderate sweetness; there's some caramel and toffee, and toasted bread, with balanced bitterness; mellow resins; they didn't go too aggressively on the old school theme, and the beer is clean.
