50cl bottle from Tesco’s, Cannonmills, Edinburgh, ABV 4.3%. Neither Scottish, nor an IPA - and that just about sums it up. Straw coloured with a fading white head and quite heavy carbonation; grassy aroma; weak, over-boiled, grainy body, with some grassy bitterness to finish. Could just as well be a Polish lager as a "classic India Pale Ale".

Clear bottle, never a good start. Golden body with a thin, quickly fading head. Steady carbonation. No lacing. Aroma of corn, lemon and earth. Flavour of astringent metal, cereal and a faint lemony finish. Thin body with a watery texture. Soft fizz. Inoffensive and drinkable. But definitely not an IPA.

500ml bottle from the Tesco. Pours clear pale gold, thick white head. Aromas of light caramel, biscuit, some light floral notes. Taste is light sweet, light bitter at the back. Bit thin and watery. Style is spot on - this is a bitter!

Cask @ The Grill, big thanks to "coins in ma breakfast" Colin. It pours deep amber with a study beige head. The nose is earthy, brown bread, light spice, candy and a touch of citrus peel. The taste is toasty, mild bitterness, earth brown bread, citrus peel and biscuit with a dry finale. Medium body and fine carbonation. Not terribly exciting, but actually not all that bad!

Cask at the Grill, Aberdeen, 20/06/14. Clear golden amber with a well appointed ’just’ off white head that retains well, good lacing ensues. Nose is dark malt notes, biscuit, light spice, fruity rinse, rather boring. Taste comprises light perfume, toffee, bitter orange, straw, biscuit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with light bitterness. Boring, the fact it looked and felt good probably drags the score up a little!
