We worked together and decided to use a blend of beans from the farm region of Tarrazu, Costa Rica. Counterpart is dedicated to a short and transparent supply chain and they strive to use their purchasing power to help make a positive impact in coffee producers' lives.
This coffee is a blend of Catuai and Caturra varieties (all sub varieties of the arabica coffee plant). It's a washed coffee, so the cherries are picked, then get pulped, the seeds are washed, and then dried on concrete patios for 2 weeks. We taste notes of chocolate, hazelnut, graham cracker, and caramel.

On tap at Superflux, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is rich, with a nice deep roasted coffee character and a clean roasted malt base. Flavour is clean and expressive, with a nice medium roast coffee character upfront, atop a sturdy base beer as usual. Perhaps this version isn't as intense or deep as the previous coffee versions, but it's still solid.

Poured from the tap. Black with small tan head. Coffee forward, slightly nutty. As the fourth in the Drip series, I’m placing this upper middle of the pack.

Dark brown, thin head. Big chocolatey aroma with medium roastiness. Solid balanced coffee stout, this is a bit to the nutty side.

12oz pour at brewery. Pours black with thin tan head. Aroma roasted coffee beans and notes of hazelnut and peanut. Flavour is also mainly roasted coffee, but with a greater presence of hazelnut. There is a bit of lingering nutty oiliness which I'm not loving. Overall a really good stout though. Compared to its contemporary in the Drip series, the Agro, the Agro does a better job with the coffee flavours.
