Laitilan Wasaborg Savuvehnä on tumma ja suodattamaton savuvehnäolut, jossa perinteisen vehnäoluen raikasta runkoa on vahvistettu aromikkailla bambergilaisilla savumaltailla. Näin on saatu aikaan tiiviin ja pysyvän vaahdon omaava rehevän raikas, mutta savuisen herkullinen vehnäolut. Laitilan Wasaborg Savuvehnän valmistuksessa on käytetty pyökkisavustettua ohramallasta ja tammisavustettua vehnämallasta. Savumaltaiden kokonaisosuus on 85 % ja vehnämaltaan osuus 50 %. Runsas savumaltaiden käyttö tuo olueen savuisen ja tervamaisen maun, josta voi aistia myös vaniljan ja hunajan aromeja. Perinteisen saksalaisen vehnäoluthiivan käyttö antaa oluelle tyypillisiä fenolimaisia ja banaanimaisia aromeja. Täydellisen makunautinnon kruunaa vehnäoluelle jopa poikkeuksellisen runsas humalointi.

SOPP-lista kertoo vahvuudeksi 5,4%, täällä 5,5%. No, lähellä ollaan. Keskiruskea ja samea olut ei juuri vaahtoa. Tuoksussa kevyttä savuisuutta ja vehnää. Maultaan makean maltainen ja vehnäinen, keskitäyteläinen.

Guest ale, 200ml on tap at Bryggeri Helsinki. Opaque dark brown body. Beige ring to the rim of the surface. Smoked aroma joined by hints of bread and ripe fruit. Dark wheat, banana sweetness, and dark fruity taste with a noticeable touch of smoke. A bit jam-like. Bittersweet ending. Fine bodied. Something special, quite nice (28.09.2015).

Smel of smoke, yeast, some banana. Muddy brown colour, beige head. Aroma of banana, smoke, some toffee. Flat carbon, half oily texture. Medium sour.

Bottle 330ml. [ As Laitilan Wasaborg Savuvehnä ].Unclear medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, wheat, moderate yeast, rubber, smoke. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, smoke - rubber, wheat, yeast. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20150620]

A brown beer, a head is medium and beige. Aroma has wheat and some smoke, hint of tar liquirice, some salt liquirice and spicyness. Good aroma. Taste has wheat, some bread, only hint of smoke, some spices. Medium bodied, nice carbonation. Very good aroma but the taste isn’t just the same level. Anyway, tasteful beer.

33 cl bottle @ Sankt Hans Tasting, Ulfborg.
Aroma has nice smoky licorice tones, some sweet malt. Schlenkerla vibes here! Flavour has smoky notes, some wheaty tones and ripe banana. Leathery palate. Aroma was wonderful but flavour does not reach that level. Nice still.
