In the beginning of October we once again harvested the grapes at Domaine De Brabantse Wal to continue our grape ale adventures. As you can expect from us it´s not a classic interpertation. We used the whole grapes with skins and seeds. We added half of them during filtering, a part during whirlpool and one part during fermentatin. Earlier this year we filled Chardonay barrels with a golden ale, which we now blended with our tripel graped grape ale.

Keg at If It Ain't Dutch. Just a light haze on this gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, airy, mildly dry, good fine carbonation. Soft malts , a nice level of creamy sweetness. Good winey vibe here, that smooth and sweet grape that is redolent of a dessert wine and then, the mild tartness of an Tokaji or similar. A slightly brighter but, still ripe grape on the finish. Nice grape ale.

On tap at Dutch Taproom, pours a clear amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of red grapes, some sugars, and some toffee. Flavour is sweet and tart, with red grapes, sugars and caramel. Clumsy and poorly constructed. I don't think this blend works as executed. Meh.
