You did it! Congratulations! World’s best cup of coffee. Great job, everybody! Great to meet you. We brewers try to stick to the five main food groups: lagers, malty lagers, stouts, coffee and candy bars. This beer ticks at least three of those boxes, so really it’s a wholesome beverage. It makes us smile. Smiling’s our favourite.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Dark brown colour with thin head. It smells like a chocolate bar, but quite nice. This would have been a full bodied beer many years ago, but today we expect fuller bodies in a pastry stout; sweet; chocolate, coffee, roasted nuts; it finishes with a light slimy feeling given sometimes by lactose; the alcohol is too noticeable.
It's pretty close to the candy bar, but it's also one of the weaker offers from Backcountry, in its category.

16oz shared @ Ryan's (thx for the beer, dude!) with Farees. Appearance: muddy brown with no head. Aroma: American oak, nice coffee, chocolate, vanilla. Taste: along the same lines, nice coffee and level. Overall: very nice.

Poured from 473mL can. Very dark brown with small beige head. Coffee, some bourbon, feint chocolate. Overall, prefer Superflux's coffee crisp beer, but this is still decent.

473 ml can. Pours a very dark brown with little head and lots of floating stuff. Aromas of sweet chocolate, coconut, black coffee and slick roasted malts. Flavors follow same with emphasis on coconut. Can’t really get any barrel effects.

Oily-looking dark brown, no head. Aroma is coffee, the coffee crisp creaminess comes through more on the palate. A touch boozy in the finish. Moderate richness, but enough. Medium barrel note. Balanced.

473mL can, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma reveals plenty of coconut upfront, followed by coffee, and subtle barrels. Flavour is quite sweet, with plenty of coconut, sugars, subtle barrel character, and cocoa. Sugary and coconuty finish, but everything is integrated reasonably. Good stuff.
