This Show Mead features the delicate flavour of Raspberry honey (honey made from raspberry flowers). It is off-dry, smooth, with subtle hints of the raspberry botanicals that permeate the base honey used to make this single-varietal mead wine.

Show Mead is the hardest Mead to make. Featuring only honey, water and yeast, there is nothing for the mazer to hide behind when making a Show Mead. Because honey has none of the nutrients yeast need to be happy as they ferment, show mead is extremely difficult to make and relies on careful temperature control and time to make a beautiful wine.

Mooch tasting, courtesy of the gang; corked bottle Very pale, with slight haze. It smells of glue, and acid; the closest thing I can think about is vomit; honey; a bit flowery. Flavour of wax, sugar syrup, cheese, high octane chemicals, mild acidity; the finish is a bit oily, and burning; it's sweet, and there's no evidence of berries. Very rough.

375ml (probably) @ Sales Force. Appearance: hazy blonde. Aroma: very weird, like a sweat, some glue and oxidization, a bit of honey. Taste: sweet, boozy, some honey, a bit of glue. Overall: meh.

Light haze, and it's quite honeyish on the nose, floral, clover. On the palate, it's lightish, I imagine raspberry honey. It's sticky honey and harsh alcohol, and not much more.

375mL bottle. Pours clear pale yellow. Aroma is a bit boozy; light honey and floral notes. A bit like paint thinner? Flavour has some watery honey, paint thinner. The more I drink the more paint thinner comes out.

Poured from 375mL bottle from Fraser Commons Liquor Store (Marine/Fraser; think it's 375mL, but it's not even listed which I think is illegal in BC? wtf?). Light hazed yellow with no head. Bland honey, not picking up any raspberry, booze. Meh.

Bottle, pours a clear blonde. Aroma is very boozy, with fermented out honey, bees wax, and light floral notes. Flavour is pretty haphazard, with lots of booze, bees wax, floral notes, and fermented out honey. Boozy, sharp, not that sweet, and lacking complexity. It's not a disaster, but it's harsh, simple, and lacking depth.
