Medium brown colour and relatively murky. No head. Aroma is raisin, fig, vanilla. On the palate, vanilla, orange peel, date and dried fig. Soft body, the barrel notes lend brown sugar and tend to soften the big alcohol that wants to blast through the finish. Solid bw.

473mL can. Pours very deep brown with no head. Aroma has lot of burnt caramel, cocoa, smoky whiskey. Flavour has smooth burnt caramel, cocoa, whiskey, a little bit of maple. A touch of boozy warmth. Fantastic dark barley wine, very well constructed flavours.

16 oz. can, pours a deep dark brown with a tiny head. Aroma is extremely rich and deep, with lots of bourbon barrels, a touch of maple, brown sugar, touch of tobacco, and some toffee. Flavour is treacly, with lots of sticky toffee, brown sugar, plenty of bourbon barrel character, some maple, and dusty oak. For 13.5%, this is not the least bit harsh. Excellent.

Dark brown colour, near black; small head. Aroma of tobacco, caramel, mild vanilla, maybe malt. Sweet and full bodied; but it's also a bit boozy; decent malt depth; some pudding, caramel sauce, vanilla; sticky.

16oz @ Ryan's shared with Alex hoping that allergy effects won't affect my taste, hehe. Appearance: brown with a weak, quickly dissipating brown head. Aroma: a lot of nice American oak, maple, vanilla notes, some sweetness and dark fruits. Taste: along the same lines, smooth, moderately to highly sweet. Overall: pleasant and enjoyable.
