Slightly hazy copper, bronze, orange and golden coloured body, all underneath a large four to five centimetre tall tan frothy head - nice! Aroma of citrus fruit, metal, light earth, toffee, caramelised sugars, stone fruits and a dash of melons - quite strong in terms of all the fruit at play here - just a wide variety of types. Medium-bodied; Relatively deep and grainy malt profile at first with some nutty, earthy and slightly grassy notes that then give way to a little bit of hoppiness and some mild to moderate bitterness with grassy and herbal hop notes shining through without much citrusey or fruity notes at the end. Aftertaste shows the strong sweetness that comes from toffee and some caramelised sugars with a touch of stone fruits as well, but the balance of malt and hops is nice here and does well for the more pungent malt than hops in this one. Overall, a decent enough unfiltered (definitely not Imperial or New England) IPA with a nice graphic (on the front of the can) and good to have locally on the last weekend before election day here in our nation's capital. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 24-October-2020 for US$3,99 sampled at my house here in Washington on 01-November-2020.

On tap at Capital Ale House, pours a cloudy peachy orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out rich resinous hops, with some pine and caramel bready malt. Flavour is similar, with resinous and piney hops upfront, with a dry bready malt base. Great balance, with a nice depth. Very good.
