On tap at Oakland Arbor. Aroma is saison fermentation, but not SARA house saison. Peppery, cloves, bubblegum, banana and some citrus. More like a hefe or a wit. Light grain notes and hints of alcohol. Pours a clear, yellow-gold color with a medium sized, thick, fluffy, white head that recedes slowly to a small film that lingers on the edges. Flavor has a light sweetness and light grain notes. Medium low bitterness and faint alcohol notes. Less fermentation characteristics in the flavor than aroma but still some banana and bubblegum. Light peppery notes and hints of cloves. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an odd saison and not like any that SARA normally makes. The grain notes are nice, but the fermentation characteristics are more like that of a wit or hefe. A bit of an odd one.

Tap. Pours clear golden yellow, small white head, good lacing. Aroma is saison yeast, field grass, black pepper corns, floral, brains of paradise. Flavor is fairly dry, hint of bitterness, grassy herbal feel. Light body, soft mouthfeel. So this is a fine example of a saison in the traditional sense, quite different than the barrel aged versions we are so used to.
