Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Aroma is full of malt and dark fruit with lighter barrel and alcohol notes. Quite a bit of dark caramel and toffee with some burnt sugar, chocolate, roast and toasted bread notes. Moderate notes of raisin, sherry, plum and prune. Light oak. Pours black with dark brown hues on the edges and a medium sized, thick, mocha head that recedes steadily to a small film that lingers. Light lacing and fairly long legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with a bit of dark fruit tartness. Fairly strong malt notes of dark caramel, toffee, burnt sugar and lighter notes of chocolate, roast and toasted bread. Moderate bitterness and alcohol spice with medium light oak notes. Lots of figs, prunes, plums and raisin notes with some sherry as well. Mouthfeel is full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright beer but it's a bit too fruity, especially before your palate adjusts. Ten fruitiness kind of accentuates the alcohol and limits the impact of the malt.
