Bottle from Beers of Europe. Poured amber with a large white head. Light aroma of caramel, malt and some floral notes. Medium sweet and light bitterness. Medium body, thin texture, lively carbonation. Finish is moderately bitter. Ok but not really like an ESB.

Keg at the Porterhouse, Covent Garden. Amber, a bit hazy with minimal head. Minimal scent too - a nice bit of gummy resin but you have to work for it. Sweet, chewy taste, with toffee and more resinous pine, although again there’s not enough of it. Clean, slick finish. An ok beer but very muted.
