Bourbon barrel aged doppelbock. Aged for one year in Okanagan Spirits barrels. The prominent bourbon-infused base is complemented by notes of port wine, creme brulee and dark fruit with a silky, rich mouthfeel. Can be aged for at least 5 years.

500 ml bottle. Pours a bright copper/mahogany without any head. Aromas of dry caramel, bourbon, raisins,, oak and biscuity malts. Watery flavors of bourbon, oak, mineral water, and toasted malts. Unimpressive but not bad.

Mooch tasting, courtesy of the gang, bottle
Clean amber colour, no head. The base beer offers some caramel, but it's not as rich as it should, for their ambitions; the barrel treatment is overwhelming, strangely it's very fruity, pear, and it's quite boozy too.
Chaotic, but I'm glad that a new brewery is trying something else than churning out Hazy Pale Ales and fruited kettle Sours.

Light brown, no head. Pours pretty flat. Ok, it smells like pears. Pretty sure that shouldn't happen in a doppelbock. Phenols from the barrel. On the palate, it's got a sweet, simple bock base, but massive pear character. You could market this as being aged in poire william barrels and I'd be more charitable. The base beer isn't that good, and the finish does it dirty.

500mL bottle, pours a clear dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma is full of perfumey paint thinner from the bourbon, followed by apples and pears, and a bit of bready caramel. Flavour is boozy, bringing out low-quality bourbon, apple, pear, perfumey, and sugars. A boozy, sugary, apple-y mess, with low-quality bourbon. Poor.

Poured from 500mL bottle. Clear auburn brown with no head. Wood glue and apple skins, feint caramel malt. Meh.

500ml @ Matt's new place. Appearance: clear dark copper with almost no head. Aroma: sweet red apples, perfumy, apple skins. Did someone mixed bourbon barrel with a calvados one? Taste: along the same lines, very intense, boozy. Overall: not good.
