Bottle shared in London. Poura clear, amber-brown with a frothy, off-white head. The nose has lots of toasty bread, some toasty leaves, hints of rubber. Light sweet flavor with some mellow cocoa, rubber, toasted grains, brown bread. Light bodied with average carbonation. Moderate sweetness to finish, burnt rubber, toasted brown bread, dried berries. So so.

Cask at the Red Lion. It pours clear deep brown with a small off-white head. The nose is earthy, brown bread, fruit cake, spice and burnt caramel. The taste is smooth, bitter, earthy, brown bread, spice, toast, charred wood and a touch of cocoa with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Solid.

Cask-conditioned at the brewpub, the Red Lion, Cricklade 9/8/2013. Deep brown with hints of red a slight, off-white head. Sweetish best bitter, with some caramel, plum fruits, slightly earthy malts and a gently bitter finish. Enjoyable.
