Ein rotgoldenes Märzenbier, wie es die Tradition der Märzenbiere verlangt. Würzig im Trunk mit einem als Gegenpol der Vollmundigkeit den Gaumen umspielenden Hopfenaroma.

This review was imported from my RateBeer ratings.
Purchased this as Weissenohe Monk’s Fest, 1 pint 9 oz. bottle. Pours a cloudy, dim amber, with a light-tan head that dissipates slowly. Aroma is sweet with hints of orange and caramel. It has a medium body that is very smooth. Taste is sweet with flavors of caramel and bread.
Overall, not too bad, but I am finding that the more I drink the more sweet and "sticky" it becomes on the palate. I’m not sure that I would want to drink more than one of these at a time.

(swing top bottle) Clear, amber colour with a medium-sized and slightly tanned foamy head. Slightly earthy, molassy and toasted malty aroma with notes of caramel. Sweet and delicately bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a smooth carbonation. Mildly toasted malty aroma with notes of caramel, shades of chestnuts, molasses and a tinge of drying spicy hops; malt accented, slightly toasted finish with present notes of caramel and shades of herbal hops. Not bad, has something of a diluted dark Bock. 29.IV.14

Bottle. Subdued, caramelapple aroma, roast. Amber haze! Low offwhite head. Light fruity roasted, a hint cigar and salt. Chewy fullbodied, mellow. A fresher sample is probably more exiting.

Bügelverschlußflasche (kindly donated by Jonas!):Copper coloured, stable mid-sized off-white head with a little lace, caramelly-toasty nose - not too sweet - with a slight metallic tinge; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, nesrly medium bodied; lingering dryish toasty-fruity finish. Fine brew…
