Cask handpull at the brewpub. Chestnut brown coloured pour with a lasting off white head. Aroma is nutty toasted brown bread, soft berry fruit. Flavour is sweet nutty grains, bit of brown sugar and toffee, grainy malts. Palate is semi sweet, but watery, low carbonation. Lingering roast and dried fruits. Middle of the roads.

Cask at the brewpub. Clear deep amber beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry, with modest fine carbonation. Mellow dark malts, trace of roast, mild lactose. Little dark fruits. Light finish. Nothing offensive but overall it’s a bit wishy washy.

Cask at the brewpub, split with MadMitch. Pours clear, reddish brown with a foamy, off-white head. The nose holds some bready malts and slightly tangy berries. Light sweet flavor, a little thin, with further notes of berry, lightly toasted bread, minimal hop presence. Light bodied with fine carbonation; OK condition. Finishes with light bready sweetness, further subtly tangy fruits. Very basic. A touch thin. And the tang seems a little out of place.
