Keg at the Champion, Hyde Park NW, 31/03/15. Light black with a decent tan covering that retains well. Nose is chocolate malt, light pine, toffee, roasted notes, faint metallic nip. Taste comprises earthy hops, cocoa powder, toffee fudge, light charr. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Adequate CDA but lacks hop presence for this Bois.

Keg at the Champion - London. Pours deep brown with a creamy beige head. Somewhat neutered aroma - perhaps it’s too cold - with slight toast and roast, hints of dusty cocoa and earth. Light-medium sweet flavor with dry milk chocolate, pleasant if mellow roast, down bread, further earthy bitterness, very faint oily pine. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Nicely balanced finish with a little bittersweet chocolate, mild toast, burnt earth, mellow grass, hints of pine and orange rind. Simple but very drinkable.
