Dunkler, röstig hopfiger Beginn. Die süßer werdende Röstigkeit gewinnt an Bedeutung, dazu etwas bitter werdend. Nett. 10/9/9/8/8/9

Appearance: A complete absence of light on the other side of this one. A nice beige head that ends up in a thin layer. Some lacing..
Aroma: Coffee, chocolate, fruity and grapefruit hoppy.
Palate: Medium to full body. Tad sweet with a nice bitterness. Soft carbonation. A bit oily texture.
Taste: Grapefruit hoppy, dark malt, coffee, mild roasted and fruity.
Overall impression: Solid tasty stuff! A bit BIPAish and that suits me fine. A fine ale after winning some silverware with Albion.
Personal stats: Bottle at Cafe Sara in Oslo, Norway.

Bottle 500ml @ Hr.Redaktør!, Mandal
Pours black with light tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, citrus, grassy, floral and alcohol. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long roasted, grassy and slightly bitter finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. This is more like a hoppy Porter than Imperial Black IPA.

Bottle, at Hr. Redaktør. A dark brown, lightly unclear beer topped by a small light tan head. Sweetish, chocolatey aroma with a little too less hops. Grass and some pine cones. Citrus notes. It’s quite bitter on the palate, faintly warming and with a fine carbonation. Chocolate, caramel sweetness, pine cones and some citrus. Quite bitter finish, but with enough sweetness to deal with it. Well, it’s s nice try, but lacking on balance and its too much on the dark malt side. 140405

500ml bottle at Café Sara. Shared with Rebecca and Oda. One-finger sized off-white head. Deep black body, reddish highlights to it. Dark malty aroma joined by citrus. Dark fruity hops to the taste buds supported by roasted caramel malts. Bittersweet finish. Fine bodied. Drinks very well (Oslo 28.03.2014).

500 ml bottle @ Cardinal. Good looking black body with a medium sized off-white head. Nice but not very strong aroma of dark malt, some roast and pine. Pleasant flavor of roasted malt, pine, some fruitiness and balanced bitterness. Served way to cold, freezing my fingers drinking this. When heated up a bit the flavors opens up and becomes much more malty with chocolate notes. Nice and balanced with a decent bitterness, more malty than normally for a black IPA – but who cares. Best beer so far from Lindesnes, cheers!

Dark brown. Head disappears quickly. Aroma of hops and chocolate sauce. IPA taste, but with chocolate in aftertaste. Well balanced and drinkable, but with too little hop punch to defend the.self-entitled "imperial IPA".
