Cask at the People’s Park Tavern - London. Pours clear, red-brkwn with a foamy, light tan head. The nose has chalky cocoa, soft roast, dark malts. Light to medium sweet flavor with notes of milk chocolate, chocolate syrup, brown bread, subtle ashy roast and burnt wood. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation. Sweet finish with more chocolate, faint alcohol and woody astringency, some burnt leaves. So so.

Cask at the People’s Park Tavern, 27/03/14. Extremely dark mahogany brown veering towards light black with a good sized light tan head that retains well. Nose is light roast malt, hint of smoke, bramble berries, earthy, dark toffee, faint cocoa powder. Taste comprises roast malt, touch of drinking chocolate, dark berry fruit, light mineral notes, toffee. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough porter and best of the 4 Laine beers I had on my visit.
