Cock Tavern. Cask. Almost opaque dark amber beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry with light fine carbonation. Light touch of dark malt but it does have some roast. Bitter dark chocolate. Light orange citrus hops on the back end a little of the expected lactose sweetness. Dry finish with mellow bitterness. Very satisfying Milk Stout, quite robust.

Cask at the Cock, we all like a bit of Cock action don’t we? This time I enjoyed cock action with Leighton and Jack, whilst Jack’s sister Charlotte watched us, 06/03/14. Light black with a good sized tan covering. Nose is light roast, milk chocolate, berry fruit, hoppy backnotes. Taste comprises light roast, treacle toffee vibes, biscuit crumble, bramble berry fruit notes, chocolate. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, hoppy back tang in the drying close. Solid stuff for the style, good depth of flavour for 4% and not overly sweet.
